The Heartland is an amazing place to stay if you are there for the U of I hospitals and clinics. The staff makes it easy for anybody who has to be at the hospital. The shuttle driver was amazing. He made sure that I made it to River Landing and came back to pick me up I could make my appointment at the U. I don't think that is a typical drop-off. My car did not start and after a series of issues with getting it dealt with, the hotel let me stay in the lobby til it was all taken care of. They were very generous and helpful. Oh, and Jethro's next door is a nice addition.

room i stayed in was extremely clean and comfortable, the room service attendant was very polite and gave me extra towels and she was very polite and respectful. also the dinner was very good in the dining area. Breakfast was good and space for it was ample. I expected biscuits and gravy but was satisfied with waffles and sausage and thankful for the juice and that other choices were available. The bathroom was clean and the shower is bright and spacious.

Freshly made hot breakfast; excellent variety of food choices; good coffee; friendly staff; fresh fruit--much appreciated. Not a trace of cigarette smoke anywhere. Quiet room, hallways.

Location is great -- near University of Iowa campus, running/cycling trails, and a short drive from downtown Iowa City. Room was spacious and beds were comfortable. Free parking.
